Chandigarh: All guns are blazing in Punjab congress with politics at its brink, got a major twist when the CM Capt. Amrinder Singh resigned on Saturday. Politics is a ruthless game, there was a time when it was told that Punjab votes for Captain Singh, not for the Congress party. Now the game changed the powerful CM had to taste the dust loosing his grip on state and centre leadership. Sonia Gandhi’s words “I am Sorry Amrinder” brought a full stop to wait & watch game of Mr. Singh.
On the other hand Navjot Singh Sidhu kept his eye on the goal, left his cabinet birth for keeping himself focused on the top slot and kept state legislatures & centre leadership interested in him. State Cabinet ministers close to centre leadership helped Sidhu’s promotion to PPCC chief position and made a wave against the state head. His advisors blasted all out on Captain. Which helped Sidhu, as damage was done without being in direct confrontation.
Now as the Punjab congress is looking for new head, horses are lined up again, Sukhjinder Randhawa, Sunil Jakhar, Pratap Bajwa and above all Navjot Sidhu are contenders for CM post. PPCC meeting remained inconclusive to find the new boss and high command was given power to nominate new Punjab CM.
Maharaja had to resign due to his inaccessibility. After resignation, he ensured to stay in politics and will decide next course of action with his supporters. Time will tell that it’s Check or Checkmate for Captain Amrinder Singh from Punjab politics.
