Patiala:Punjab School Education and PWD Minister Mr. Vijay Inder Singla on the occasion of Teachers' Day at the Virtual Cum Offline State Level Teacher Award Ceremony conducted by Punjab School Education Department under the patronage of Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh. Honored with level awards.
He said that the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh had changed the face of education system in the state in last 4 years and as a result due to the hard work of the teachers of government schools Has emerged as a leader in India.
Mr. Vijay Inder Singla personally awarded certificates to 23 teachers of Sangrur, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar and Fatehgarh Sahib including Patiala at the auditorium of Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala. Honored at District Headquarters. Out of these 36 Upper Primary Teachers and 22 Primary Teachers were given State Awards, 6 Upper Primary and 5 Primary Teachers were given Youth Teacher Awards and 11 Education Officers were given Administrative State Awards.
Congratulating the teachers across the state on Teacher's Day, Mr. Vijay Inder Singla paid homage to the late President, Scholar, Philosopher and Bharat Ratna Dr. Paying homage to Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, who was born on this day in 1888, he said that he preferred to call himself a teacher despite being the President. Respecting the teachers, he said that after the parents, the teachers are the most important role models of one's life so the teachers are lucky to be a part of the nation building teacher class.
Mr. Vijay Inder Singla said that the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh had taken important decisions in the first cabinet meeting to raise the standard of education. Education reforms are being implemented on the lines of He said that due to the decisions of the government and the hard work of the teachers, today 7 lakh students have left the private schools in the state and enrolled in the government schools. And Indian public policy has come forward to educate teachers.
Mr. Singla said that the Capt. Government had formulated a policy of recruitment and transfer of teachers on the basis of transparency and merit, so that there was no negligence in the issue of future of the children. He said that despite Kovid's challenge, government teachers have shown unparalleled dedication in performing unique services in the field of education. However, due to the joint efforts of all the staff of the education department, the smart school policy was also successful. Mr. Singla hoped that Punjab would also be leading in the National Achievement Survey. He said that Punjab had the best teacher-student ratio in the country and the entire infrastructure including sports in government schools had been strengthened.
The Education Minister further said that he was proud to have served this department and the goal set by the Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh to promote the education system was being achieved. He said that the teachers have contributed a lot for the progress made by the government schools in the state.
Earlier on the occasion Secretary School Education Mr. Krishan Kumar welcomed Mr. Singla and termed the selection system of state level awards as the best system in the country. Launched awards for school principals and officials to take advantage of the enthusiasm of young teachers.
Mr. Ramesh Kumar Ganta, Principal Secretary, Technical Education Department, who was present on the occasion, congratulated the teachers and said that education was a mission and he was happy that school education in Punjab was one of the best in the country.
