Chandigarh: Punjab's Director General of Police, Gaurav Yadav, launched an upgraded call centre for Cyber Helpline 1930 and introduced the "Cyber Mittar Chatbot" to combat cyber crimes. This move aims to provide real-time assistance and rapid resolution of financial frauds.
The enhanced call centre enables citizens to report cyber financial frauds and freeze suspicious transactions instantly. Since its inception in September 2021, the helpline has received 26,625 complaints, with a 17% success rate in 2024.

The AI-powered chatbot offers:

- Multilingual interface (including Punjabi)
- Safe and non-judgmental reporting space
