New Delhi: The Prime Minister internship scheme has seen an overwhelming response, with over 155,000 candidates registering for approximately 91,000 opportunities on the internship portal since its launch on Saturday evening. This enthusiastic response is a testament to the scheme's potential to provide valuable work experience to India's youth.
Key Highlights of the Scheme
Objective: Provide 125,000 internship opportunities to youth aged 21 to 24 in FY 2024-25 with a budget of Rs 800 crore.
Duration: 12 months of exposure to real-life business environments, varied professions, and employment opportunities.
Participating Companies: 193 companies, including major private sector players like Jubilant Foodworks, Maruti Suzuki India, Eicher Motor Ltd, Larsen & Toubro Ltd., Muthoot Finance, and Reliance Industries.
Selection Process: A shortlist using artificial intelligence will be prepared to identify eligible candidates and match them to suitable internship opportunities.
Internship Start Date: December 2.
