Chandigarh, October 8: Rajesh Kumar, beloved for his iconic role as Rosesh in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, has opened up about his remarkable journey from facing financial devastation to finding success in farming. In a candid interview, Rajesh shared the highs and lows of his entrepreneurial venture, revealing the struggles he overcame to achieve triumph.
Early Setbacks
In 2019, Rajesh ventured into farming, renting 20 acres in Palghar. However, his initial attempts were marred by:
- Floods destroying 15,000 saplings
- Covid-19 lockdown damaging 75% of his crop
- A devastating fire ravaging half his crops
"I was shattered. I thought I couldn't continue," Rajesh recalled. With debts piling up and only Rs 2,500 left in his bank account, Rajesh faced immense financial pressure.
Selling Vegetables Outside School
Determined to succeed, Rajesh pivoted to planting vegetables and selling them outside his children's school. This humble beginning marked a turning point in his journey.
"I would transport cow dung in my car, and my kids refused to ride in it afterward," Rajesh joked. Despite the challenges, he persevered, driven by his passion for farming.
Return to Acting
As Rajesh's farming venture gained momentum, he returned to acting, landing roles in:
- Binny And Family (UK)
- Kota Factory 2 (Math teacher)
- Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya (Shahid Kapoor-starrer)
- Rautu Ka Raaz (Nawazuddin Siddiqui-starrer)
