Seol: In the Seol, the South Korean capital around 151 people were killed and more then 150 were injured after being jammed by a large crowd pushing forward on a tight street during Halloween festivities said an official.
Choi Seong-beom, Chief of Seoul’s Yongsan fire department Choi Seong-beom, said the death toll could increase as emergency workers were continuing to shift the injured to various hospitals in Seoul after the stampede in the leisure district of Itaewon on Saturday night. He told 74 of the dead have been sent to hospitals while the bodies of the remaining 46 were still on the streets.
According to Officials people were crushed to death in a stampede when a large crowd started pushing forward in a narrow street near Hamilton Hotel, a major party spot in Seoul.
Around 400 emergency workers and 140 vehicles were deployed to treat the injured.
The National Fire Agency said in a statement that officials were still trying to find the actual figure of injured patients.
TV videos and pictures from the scene showed ambulance vehicles lined up amid a heavy security and emergency workers moving the injured in stretchers. Emergency workers and pedestrians were performing CPR on people lying in the streets.
