Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari told at an function that a fine will be taken from passengers not wearing seat belts in the rear seats in cars. The seatbelt issue has come up with the recent death of Tata Sons former chairman Cyrus Mistry's tragic car accident on his way to Mumbai. As per reports Mistry was not wearing a seatbelt on rear seat and this costed him life.
Gadkari said that in the next three days the government will release a notification for penalty for passengers not wearing a seatbelt on rear seats. Beeper if rear seat passenger not wear a seatbelt will be introduced in cars of all price ranges.
