Vice President Election: For the post of Vice President, according to sources Former Punjab CM Amarinder Singh will be the candidate from NDA side. It is being said that a consensus has been reached in the NDA in the name of Amarinder Singh, who broke away from the Congress and formed his new party. BJP and Captain had fought together in the Punjab Assembly elections, before this, the Chief Minister of Punjab had been for 9 and a half years, Captain had left the Congress party three months before the assembly elections.
Vice President nomination will begin with the issuance of notification for the elections on 5th July and Nominations will be held till July 19. Elections will be held on August 6 and counting of votes will also take place on the same day. The term of the current Vice President will end on August 11. Therefore, before this the new Vice President of the country will also be elected.
According to sources Amarinder Singh will merge his party 'Punjab Lok Congress' with the BJP.
BJP is trying to reach Punjab with the help of Captain Amarinder Singh. Here in Punjab, the Akali Dal used to be an ally of the BJP, but after the agriculture bill and the farmers' movement, the alliance between the two broke up. After the Kisan movement, the Sikh community is said to be annoyed with the BJP, after which the BJP is playing every bet to increase its proximity to the Sikh community. Prime Minister Modi is meeting Sikh personalities. The Prakash Purb of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji has also been celebrated in the Red Fort. Captain is considered the political stalwart of Punjab. With Captain, BJP is eyeing 13 seats in Punjab in 2024.
